This is me on my 54th birthday. I am married with two girls, 22 and 20. I will try and not embarrass them though I am sure I will. Often seen with a champagne glass in my hand, or running shoes on my feet. Rarely both at the same time, though …
I am currently a head of maths at a coastal comprehensive school and I love teaching maths!! I will talk about this more as I can hear the groans, the ‘I can’t do maths’,’I hated maths at school’, ‘never used maths since school’ comments. Maybe I can change that, maybe not but one thing you’ll learn about me is I love a challenge.
Things I do; run, ride (or use to and that’s another story), photograph things, look after my dog, sew (not as often as I would like), like to learn stuff, sing, trying to write a novel, go to the cinema, eat out (probably too much), struggle with my weight (see previous item), enjoy wine, again the weight, travel, love champagne, dye my hair (I am completely grey, since my 30s). I am sure there are other things, but I forget at the moment.
I am currently going through menopause which has been interesting. Don’t think I have suffered as much as others but definitely had my challenges. Will share my experiences and thoughts and hope that it may help someone.
As I have said and will say, I love shoes. It is shallow I am sure some will say, but I think everyone should have something which is their life’s little pleasure. Can be as simple as a flower box or herb garden. It doesn’t matter as long as it gives you pleasure. Adam’s (that is my husband, was going to say long suffering but have decided I am always going to be positive and not put myself down, as I often tend to do. It’s easier sometimes to put yourself down before anyone else does, but am learning this is not very useful) little pleasure is his Lego, or is it his bass guitars not sure which, will have to ask him.
Until next time
Lois
